Andreas, which has been around since 1960, has seen food fashions
come & go along this most gastronomic of London streets, &
although it hasn’t changed its ways much over the years, it still
has a faithful following. The red banquettes, wooden chairs &
dainty flowers on lacy tables are a throwback, but the family
welcome & helpfulness of the staff are as traditional as the
menu, with its selection of mezze (tahini, calamari, chicken livers)
followed by moussaka, kleftiko & grilled fish & meats. Can’t
decide? Go for the mezzethes: hot & cold mezze followed by
chicken & lamb kebabs & feta salad, a steal at £18 per head.
